Carl Dixon At Jazz At The Point Concert Series At Crossroads Theater

Bringing back the tradition of blues and jazz to a single location in the heart of the historic Five Points, revitalizing the community and providing music education to Denver students. Headliners like Denver's  Carl Dixon, Mary Louise Lee and her quartet combine their talents with Patricia LeBlanc and Denver students to form the community celebration. Jazz at the Point is a monthly concert series featuring local Denver musicians.

Rocky Mountain Deaf Theatre actor, Nicki Runge is Shirley Valentine.

"Shirley Valentine" is an award-winning one character play(1986) by Willy Russell adapted from his original comedy-drama. The one woman show in American Sign Language portrays a deaf middle-aged, working class Liverpool housewife. What can you do when you realize that you’ve hit middle age, and your life has been shaped by choices made by everyone except you? As Shirley prepares chips and egg for dinner, she ruminates on her life and tells the wall about her husband, her children, her past, and an invitation from a girlfriend to join her on holiday in Greece to reconnect with romance and adventure. Ultimately, Shirley goes on her adventure and something wonderful happens to her life.


Rocky Mountain Deaf Theatre actor, Nicki Runge is Shirley Valentine. Rocky Mountain Deaf Theater is touring Europe and the United States with "Shirley Valentine" and Six Women In Search of the Perfect Play, also a one woman show with Ms Runge. Besides acting, Ms Runge is Creative Director of Rocky Mountain Deaf Theatre, teaches drama and American Sign Language for preschool through adult students. The show is scheduled for Thursday April 23rd through April 26th at the Crossroads Theatre in Denver, Colorado and sponsored by the Performing Arts Project.
